This is speech therapy

I hold a plastic pig in front of Little T and say, "Pig. Oink, oink." I oink like a pig. Little T bursts into laughter. His fat face suffuses into a wide grin. He takes the pig from me. He stares at the pig. His mouth hangs open. Then he puts the pig down carefully. I hold up a plastic duck, and say "Duck. Quack quack." I quack like a duck. Little T laughs again. We have a menagerie of animals with a variety of sounds. Little T finds every one equally hilarious. I repeat this until I get totally bored. Little T never seems to tire of it. I find it ironic that someone got an advanced degree to come to my house to tell me to do this. To be totally honest, I'm not quite sure how this will get Little T to talk. I'm sure there's some theory or other that explains it, but I don't care. What I do know is that he really enjoys it.
