Prematch extended editon

We get prematched with dogs on the third day - Wednesday. We have a variety of different disabilities and lifestyles, so the first two days we work with a bunch of dogs. These dogs can do a variety of things. Then CCI gives us our prematch based on our physical needs, temperament and lifestyle. Most people graduate with their prematch, but there are switches because things aren't working out with the dog or the person. Sometimes it's the dog. Sometimes it's the person. It's a relationship after all. Not every dog is everyone's cup of tea.

The secrecy about prematches is for the puppyraisers. They get informed when there's a prematch and it's up to them whether to take the risk to disseminate that information. AFAIK the puppyraiser of my dog hasn't put up anything publicly. I would just want to wait until the match is final. So I'm waiting.

Personally I wouldn't publicize a prematch unless I was really sure...having seen the Team Training process.

We have lunch with the puppyraisers, and many fly out to the lunch and graduation. It's a big deal for them, because they've spent 18 months raising this puppy.

I don't want to jinx anything, but so far things are going well. We're bonding. It's great. Just exhausting mentally physically and emotionally.

Thanks for sharing! So glad you're feeling good about the state of things. When are your matches made official? Can you give us any clues about your dog, just some nice juicy tidbits to masticate while we wait with baited breath as you go through this second week!?!?
