I find it funny that my life is still ruled by pregnancy.  I now have a kind CCI volunteer lined up for Reading to Dogs at my daughter's school.  However her dog will go into heat sometime next month, and will be bred and have puppies. 

At least at CCI, the process is much more predictable than with my human friends.  Plus this dog has already had three litters.  So she'll be out for about 16 weeks in the next month or so.  Dogs are only pregnant for nine weeks.   8 children at once versus nine weeks of pregnancy.  Hrm.  And they're only really infants for seven to eight weeks.
