Health problems in me and my cats

This weekend I caught a cold, which has worsened my allergies, and I can barely speak without coughing.  Unfortunately having Mori inside is not good for my allergies.  Sadly Little T may also be allergic.  He's gotten a lot of eczema recently.  He's seeing an allergist in a couple weeks.

Meanwhile Sephi's thyroid results came back this weekend.  Her initial test showed her thyroid level in the gray area. So I plonked down another $70 for a more detailed test.  Upshot of that is her thyroid is on the very high end of normal.  She lost weight so the next tests they'd do would be to look for cancer.  She'd be okay with a chest x-ray, but the abdominal u/s would freak her out and for the same reason she's not a good candidate for chemo.  So unfortunately if she had cancer I wouldn't treat it except to relieve her suffering.  She appears fine now if peeing and a bit more freakazoid than usual.  So I decided to wait and see if by feeding her a bit more, she'll maintain her weight or even gain some back.

And Mori appears to have gotten over his upper respiratory infection but he started hiding -- unusual for him.  I think Little T's new found power of walking scares him.  At least I hope that's the issue.  He's still eating.

I'm sorry to hear that you're feeling sick. As to Mori, I think that as long as he is eating and drinking, then he sounds as though he is on the mend.

Thanks for the reassurance. :)

I hope your kitties are OK and that you mend quickly, too. In the meantime, lots of hugs for all of you!
