Little T has a fever

Little T has a fever. This has ended with him in the hospital all the other times he's had one. And his hemo doctor has said to call if he has one. I'm telling myself he's bigger now and he's on a low dose of steroids and aspirin. It's preventing me from panicking. Okay not that I panic anyway. I know I remain calm in emergencies. But I refuse to say it's alright either, because of all the other times when I tried to pretend it was and it wasn't.

Looking at the boy, he appears cheerful if hot. However the only time I've seen him not cheerful while sick was when he had sepsis and was going in septic shock, or had RSV. In both cases he couldn't breathe. Not being able to breathe upsets him.

But this time I could ask him if he was okay and he said "nuh uh." Previously he always said "yeah", but I'd ask it after he's fallen down. On the other hand when I asked him, "Is your name Torin?" he said the same thing. So who knows?

All the other times I've not posted, or posted things will be fine. I thought I'd try something different this time in the hopes of a different outcome.

We've decided to call in the morning if he still has a fever since his doctor won't be in now and we're not going to the ER again. At least not tonight.

Yes, this is what passes for humor right now.

***hugs*** for Little T, and for you and C-. (And Special K too, just so she doesn't feel left out.)

I hope that he's better today. <3
