What a shock to go from celebration to mourning. As befits the blogging age, I first found out about the London bombs from owlmoose. I called my parents who are thankfully back home from London and woke my father. He hadn't even heard there were any bombs, so I must assume that my cousins are okay. Now I wonder why my dad was sleeping at 9:30am, but that's another blog.

London beat out New York and several other cities to win the 2012 Olympics. The BBC explained why London won. Typically, the BBC News broke the news in the context of the G8 conference. My grandad would be proud and happy. We may even go and watch, but it's hard to think of what my life will be like in 2012.
